A flurry of acquisitions fluttered through the newspaper business in recent days, much like snow fluttering to the ground on a cold December morning.
Some were large buys (the E.W. Scripps Co. bought out its partner in the Shop At Home Network) while others were smaller (Ogden Newspapers bought a 13,642-circulation daily in Lisbon, Ohio).
Here's a wrap-up of these recent transactions:
*Scripps buys out rest of Shop At Home: A little more than a year after buying a 70-percent controlling interest in the Shop At Home network, the E.W. Scripps Co. said last week it was buying the rest of the business.
