The OFT today referred the proposed acquisition by Firstgroup plc of the ScotRail franchise to the Competition Commission (CC).
The OFT has referred the merger because it believes that if it went ahead it may be the case that it may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition in the supply of passenger transport services on point-to-point routes in Scotland.
