Warner Robins, Ga., Partnership Head Works to Keep Robins Air Force Base Open.

Jan. 12--WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- Ron Carbon's connection to Robins Air Force Base goes back more than 50 years -- before he was even born.

Carbon was born in Newton, Kan., in 1954, but before that his father, Bernie Carbon, was stationed at Robins Air Force Base. While in Middle Georgia, the elder Carbon met his bride-to-be, Barbara, and in 1952 they married in Macon before moving to Kansas.

Forty-five years later, in 1997, Ron Carbon was assigned to Robins as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force the next year.
