The new year holds hope of a more stable life for Matty the three-legged dog.
Instead of life at an animal shelter, Matty's got himself some sweet new digs, a new brother and sister, and a new start on a happy life.
Between Christmas and New Year's, Matty was adopted by Pam and Bob Getek (pronounced "get-ick"), of Erieville.
"He took to them and they took to him immediately," said Shelly English, director of Wanderers' Rest animal shelter. "It was a good match."
The Geteks made a couple of trips to the shelter with the two dogs they own to make sure the dogs were compatible, English said. ...
