Rolling Meadows Dominick's shoppers and city officials were disappointed Monday.
They weren't surprised.
Many said they'd noticed just what the company had: There weren't a lot of customers, and the store, last redone sometime in the 1980s, needed a little love to compete with the revamped Jewel Foods across the street.
Still, "It's going to be sad" to see it close its doors, said shopper Helen Christensen, who, like others, said she loves the ample parking and lack of lines. "I don't like to go to the Jewel."
The store, on Kirchoff Road, is on a list of a dozen Dominick's Finer ...
