THE Philippines is an agricultural country. Half of its 34-million labor force depends on agriculture and related industries for their livelihood. Palay, corn, sugar cane, coconut, abaca, tobacco, plants, and vegetables are the pillars of the Philippine economy. Promoting and developing these pillars of our economy are vital not only to the sustenance and well-being of our people but also to our countrys posterity.
The Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) is one of our governments agencies that plays a significant part in our governments efforts to create a better future for the Filipino people.
