Strands of white lights lined the windows, roof and porch of a 1-year-old house in Scriba during the holidays. Angels and snowmen sat on the front lawn.
To most people, the yellow house seemed like just one of many new homes built in the neighborhood over the past few years. But to Charmaine and Sherod LaLiveres and their children, the house at 2104 county Route 1 has a much deeper meaning.
Extra rooms mean Charmaine LaLiveres has been able to expand her day-care business. A front yard means her three daughters have space to play. And a deed with Sherod LaLiveres' name on it means he finally has a place to ...
