Allen Griffin remembers the wave of exhaustion that swept over him in the locker room immediately after fighting through every one of 40 minutes in a game. He remembers the aches that distracted him as he lay in bed rehashing every moment of the game.
"Exactly right after a game you'll feel it," he said recently. "You'll feel it laying in bed the night of the game while you're thinking about what you did in the game, good or bad. You're sitting there just feeling the pain. But during the game, you never think about it. Never. You just think about it after."
