Hot Action Cop, "Hot Action Cop" (Lava Records)
Hot Action Cop's self-titled release may just be the most amazingly offensive piece of music since the Red Hot Chili Peppers hit the scene. Seamlessly fusing rap, punk, metal, funk and reggae in the style of RHCP or Fishbone, Hot Action Cop's heavy, funky, melodic sound is sure to affect listeners - for better or for worse.
"Doom Boom" is a very hip-hop influenced, very heavy piece, while "Goin' Down On It" (with it's "acid rock section") is a great party song. "Don't Want Her to Stay" is a very good melodic pop song, almost a surefire single. "Fever for the Flava," the album's ...
