Jan. 19--The popular lunch spot North Main Deli won't be serving its signature chicken salad sandwich with a side of sour cream potato salad today. It's closed.
The black family-owned business in north Columbia has closed every Martin Luther King Jr. Day since its June 1998 opening, owner Sabrina Odom Patterson said.
"We're a very small business and can't afford to be closed, but we will be," said Patterson, whose family plans to attend one or more King events today.
