Jan. 20--Myrtle Beach International Airport had the largest percent age of growth in boarding passengers in the state in 2003 compared with 2002, a 6 percent jump, while the nation's passenger traffic inched up by only 1 percent.

"That kind of growth is envied by large and small airports across the nation," said Bill Oliver, vice president of The Boyd Group, an airline industry analyst based in Colorado.
