In part because foodservice design consulting is such a new profession, few practitioners have had the opportunity to grow up in the business. One exception is Steve Marshall, who was able to observe his parents developing a prototypical example of a design consultancy, Bert Marshall & Elizabeth Marshall Inc., from his earliest childhood.
