WASHINGTON - Replacing Steven A. Kandarian as executive director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. won't be easy.
"The timing is difficult,'' one pundit said. "It's hard to fill these slots, and nobody is going to take that job right now,'' with the presidential election just 10 months away.
Mr. Kandarian's resignation was announced Jan. 7, and is effective mid-February.
Vince Snowbarger, assistant executive director for legislative affairs at the PBGC since July 2002 and a one-term Republican congressman from Kansas, is expected to be named acting executive director, sources said. He could serve until after ...
