Each time the Myrtle Point girls basketball team played Big Fir League rival Gold Beach last year, head coach Marty Stallard walked to a chalkboard after the game, drew the number `4' and circled it.

`The fourth one is the one that counts,' Stallard told his team. `Anybody that doesn't believe it can leave right now.'

He went through that process after losing twice to the Panthers in conference play, and again after losing to Gold Beach in a seeding game for the OSAA Class 2A state tournament in Pendleton.
