Article: Eastern Paper Continues Positive Talks with Lenders.

AMHERST, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2004

Representatives from Eastern Paper, financial lenders, representatives from the P.A.C.E. Union, and counsel for the Creditors' committee, met today with Governor Baldacci of Maine and his economic team in order to seek agreement on the continued funding of Eastern Paper's Maine based operations.

Eastern Paper has idled production at both its Brewer and Lincoln, Maine facilities pending the release of additional funding. Eastern Paper has been working diligently to secure financing to allow the company to restart operations and emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
