IT'S A KIND of bigotry that I'm witnessing here," said Joseph Farah, who has been editor of the Sacramento Union for a year. "I can't make a move without being scrutinized by the watchdogs of the media." He's a conservative, putting out what he believes is one of the few conservative daily papers in the country. (He mentions the Indianapolis Star, the Birmingham News, and the Washington Times.) Soon after Farah took over as editor, his paper was attacked in a column by the Sacramento bureau chief of the San Diego Union, supposedly also conservative.
