Delta Air Lines Inc. may expand to its entire network the simpler, cheaper fare schedule it began testing four months ago in Cincinnati, a step an Internet travel analyst said yesterday would force rivals to follow suit.
Delta slashed fares at Cincinnati, a key hub airport for the Atlanta-based carrier, as much as 60 percent and lowered fees for changing tickets in a fare-cutting plan it called SimpliFares. Chief Executive Gerald Grinstein said Dec. 15 that the number of Cincinnati passengers rose by a third.
