The government of Argentina has studied policies to hinder the entry of Brazilian textile products without breaking Mercosur's regulations. This move may also affect the footwear and furniture segments. Argentina is evaluating the implementation of certifications about the products' composition as well as licenses for the goods to enter the market. The country was the 2nd main purchaser of the Brazilian textile sector in 2003 with imports of US$300mil.
