There's certainly a lot of excitement about digital cameras currently; but despite this fact, some digital cameras are now collecting dust. Among all households owning digital still cameras, 6 percent did not use their cameras during 2002, according to PMA Marketing Research 2003 Camera/Camcorder, Digital Imaging Survey.
Resolution appears to be a significant indicator of whether or not a digital camera will go unused. Nearly 11 percent of households with cameras featuring less than 1 megapixel did not use their cameras during 2002, compared to less than 3 percent of camera owners with a 3-megapixel or greater model.
