NEW YORK -- Admitting that the company had made some mistakes in recent years, Schering-Plough Corp. chairman and chief executive officer Fred Hassan told investors recently that the drug firm is mending its ways and should eventually return to its former glory.
"I am still in the process of peeling the onion in several places," Hassan. who took over the helm at Schering-Plough in April, said at the recent Bear Stearns Healthcare Conference here.
"I know that many of you have been frustrated with what you've seen with this company," he acknowledged. "It's very hard to understand all the moving parts."
