Laurie J. Spagnola is a trustee in the village of Camillus.
As many of you are aware, the Camillus Volunteer Fire Department is seeking to separate from the village of Camillus. I support their efforts in this endeavor.
The key to working out this issue is for both parties involved to discuss the issue thoroughly with productive, roundtable discussions.
The board has failed to schedule a meeting despite requests from the fire department for close to a year.
Some of the village board members have raised concerns individually over the proposal that was presented by the fire department.
