Jan. 23--GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. -- The more than 70 people who gathered at the Grand Rapids City Hall Thursday afternoon didn't pull any punches when given a chance to tell Northwest Airlines what they thought of plans to cease commercial air service to their city March 1.
Dan Erkilla, who serves on the Grand Rapids City Council as well as the Grand Rapids-Itasca County Airport Commission, said his constituents have stopped him on the street to describe feelings of "betrayal and abandonment" since learning of Northwest's decision.
