Warsaw. January 22. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Polish new passenger car sales gathered pace in the last month of 2003, rising 51.3% year on year to 37,672 units in the month and driving the twelve-month figure up 16.3% to 358,432 units, the best full-year result since 2000, according to updated data released by car-market research firm Samar.

The December result, which also marked a 22.7% rise in month-on-month terms, shows the car market in good shape, though that could be set to change if new value-added-tax (VAT) changes come into effect regarding the classification ...
