Jan. 24--Business owners in and near Blue Sky Industrial Park agreed yesterday to give the city up to $40,000 to buy the bankrupt sewage treatment plant that serves them, but Lexington officials warned that might not be nearly enough.
"If this works, we'll accept it," Mayor Teresa Isaac said. "But we don't want to leave anyone with false hopes that it will work."
She and other city officials had asked the businesses for $150,000 to buy Blue Sky Sewer Service Inc., which has a long history of environmental problems.
