MANCHESTER, N.H. _ John Edwards and Wesley Clark have a lot riding on Tuesday's Democratic primary, and not just in New Hampshire.
"For both of them, their fate (in South Carolina) is going to be determined in large part by what happens in New Hampshire," said Don Fowler, a former national chairman of the Democratic Party who lives in Columbia, S.C.
Edwards, a U.S. senator from North Carolina, and Clark, a retired Army general from Arkansas, have looked beyond New Hampshire to next Tuesday's primary in South Carolina, one of seven in the nation that day. Both are Southern moderates. Both claim to give the party its best ...
