Having grown by leaps and bounds during the past couple of years, Johnson Oil Co., Columbus, Ind., operator of the fabled Bigfoot C-store chain, is expected to increase its retail outlet stable even more when it finalizes the acquisition of Louisville-based Transit Oil Co.
Once environmental site testing is completed and some other formalities are ironed out, Johnson Oil will take possession of 17 unbranded retail locations, says company president Dick Johnson. Johnson hopes to take possession of the units-five in Indiana and 12 in Kentucky-by October 1.
