Palmieri To Head Mut. Benefit; Met Bows Out

Victor Palmieri, a specialist in reorganizing troubled companies, has been named deputy rehabilitator and chief executive officer of Mutual Benefit Life Ins. Co.

New Jersey insurance department officials said that Mr. Palmieri would assume the deputy rehabilitator's post immediately and Metropolitan Life would no longer have a management role in the Newark-based company's rehabilitation.

The "resources" of Mr. Palmieri's 20-year-old, New York-based Palmieri Co., will be used in his new position, according to the department.
