On the Democratic side it's refreshing to hear a candidate speak about things like "fiscal discipline" and "making government more efficient." It's no wonder Jim Klocke is ahead of the six-man pack in fund-raising and in support in the business community.
Of course, for the past 11 years Klocke has worked for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, guiding its economic development initiatives through the Legislature and working with lawmakers on such traditionally Democratic issues as education reform, job training and tax relief for low income seniors.
At a recent candidates' forum he went on record as being opposed to tax hikes, adding, "Job creation ...
