St. Henry battled Holy Cross shot for shot Monday night at Newport High School, and took its first step toward repeating as state small-school champion with a 54-50 overtime upset of the Indians, ranked fifth in the Northern Kentucky coaches poll.
"We were underdogs tonight, and I think we showed we could play with anybody," said Crusaders junior swingman Sam Lageman.
