The Greenlining Institute filed a formal protest Monday with the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York requesting hearings on J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.'s deal for Bank One Corp.
Robert Gnaizda, Greenlining's general counsel and policy director, said he immediately opposed the deal when he heard about it Jan. 14, but Monday's letter was his first formal move with regulators.
In the letter, Mr. Gnaizda and Vina Ha, a Greenlining banking fellow, wrote the protest on behalf of their 39 members and asked that it be counted as 39 requests for public hearings on the acquisition. They requested hearings in ...
