WITH a first and second in two Grade 1 races and a narrow defeat in a Grade 2 from his last four hurdle races, Spectroscope seems not to be getting the respect he deserves in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle (2.00) at Ascot today.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained top-weight is on offer at a double-figure price this morning, with the layers tending to write off his chance after a poor return to hurdling in the Gerry Feilden at Newbury in November.
