PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Indian government recently gave its techno-economic clearance regarding the planned construction of the Teesta Lower Dam Stage IV hydropower development project that is being promoted by the local NATIONAL HYDROELECTRIC POWER CORP. (NHPC). Hence, subject to the approval of the government cabinet the project will move ahead in due course and is scheduled for completion about 4 years thereafter.
Construction plans under consideration call for building a power complex that will have an installed generating capacity of 160 Mw. In so doing, NHPC will build a 45-meter concrete dam and install 4-40 Mw generators. Power output will be ...
