Die-hard explorer resurrects his Baja California magazine
With the dreary climate for magazine publishing in recent years, few periodicals that have gone down in flames have ever reappeared. Especially not glossy travel magazines.
Landon Crumpton whipped the odds.
Little more than a year ago, things were looking grim for the 34-year-old Crumpton. He was living hand to mouth, watching his two-year-old magazine devoted to Baja California be taken from him piece by piece by his investment partner.
His fledgling magazine, Baja Traveler - grown to 100 pages, with slick ads from Isuzu, Mexicana Airlines and assorted Los Cabo resorts - folded. ...
