On the day I tested Ribcraft's new 7.8 Mitigator, a special edition of the builder's proven 25-foot rigid inflatable boat (RIB), winds gusting from 18 to 25 knots slowed our progress and speed heading up the Severn River northwest of Annapolis, Md. The beautifully finished jet-black boat had made quite an impression on me before we left the dock, but it wasn't until we hit the rough, open waters of the Chesapeake Bay that its special features really began to shine.
