This just in from the "You Gotta Be Kidding" Department: The name "Bandon," as in Bandon, Ore., pop. 2,880, est. 1891, has been trademarked by the Bandon Cheese Company.
The Bandon Cheese Company is owned by the Tillamook County Creamery Association, which has, incidentally, also trademarked the name "Tillamook," as in Tillamook, Ore., pop. 4,340, est. 1891.
Bandon Cheese marketing director Kathy Holstad recently sent letters to a number of businesses that have "Bandon" as part of their names, informing the companies that Bandon Cheese has trademark rights to the name "Bandon." The letter said the recipients would ...
