Dec. 22--When Donna and David Carver were planning their retirement home a few years back, buying a manufactured house and plopping it down on a lot in a Ventura seniors community wasn't exactly at the top of their minds.
They were thinking more along the lines of building a custom home on land they owned in Hawaii. But, after months of fussing with uncooperative builders, they ditched the island dream and put their money into a manufactured house.
They couldn't be happier. What's not to like, the couple asks? They have a new, spacious 1,740 square-foot home ...
