If you enjoy the first show of summer wildflowers at Mount Revelstoke National Park, stay tuned for the encore. The first blooms--glacier lilies, spring beauty, pasqueflower, marsh marigolds, and more--make their debut in July as melting snow recedes up the mountainside. While these early bloomers fade, a second wave of colour washes over the subalpine meadows.
"The floral show culminates in an August kaleidoscope of red Indian paintbrush, white mountain valerian, yellow arnica, purple lupine, and pink mountain daisies," writes Parks Canada biologist John Woods in his book, Glacier Country.
