ROBERT PLANT "Sixty Six to Timbuktu" (Atlantic) Grade: B+
You wouldn't necessarily know it by scanning the charts, but Robert Plant had a career both before and after Led Zeppelin. As "Sixty Six to Timbuktu" shows, the ol' lemon squeezer made plenty of compelling music on his own.
The first disc in this two-CD set is the post-Zep "hits" disc _ though that's misleading, since he's only had two Top 20 singles in the 24 years since Zeppelin: "Sea of Love," his whimsical stab at pop crooner-dom with the Honeydrippers, and "Big Log," a trance-inspiring ballad that's far better than its title.
