AMERICAN AND CANADIAN COMPANIES are divided over the U.S. proposal to end the long running softwood lumber trade dispute between the U.S. and Canada. U.S. forest products companies have announced support for the proposal. Some Canadian companies support the deal while others are opposed. The proposal would allow Canada access to 31.5% of the U.S. market without trade penalties. The U.S. would drop the 27% across-the-board duty now in place, and refund 52% ...
