Mumbai, Feb 3 (PTI) Eminent documentary film maker K L Khandpur was presented with life time achievement award for pioneering documentary film movement in India at the Eighth Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) here Tuesday.
Receiving the V Shantaram Award at P L Deshpande auditorium in this western Indian metropolis, Khandpur traced the beginning of the international film festivals in India.
He recounted how the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru agreed to the proposal and the festival was finalised within two hours.
