Public access: OCN checkmates Dimension Cable
Chalk one up for Freedom Newspapers Inc. in its ongoing competition with Times Mirror Co.
For nearly a year, Times Mirror-owned Dimension Cable Services had refused to carry the 24-hour Orange County News-Channel, which is owned by Freedom.
Eleven smaller cable companies, with varying degrees of enthusiasm, had picked up OCN. But negotiations with Dimension, the largest cable system in the county, were proving fruitless.
