VPFM steelworks management, unions sign collective agreement for 2004

Prague. February 5 INTERFAX EUROPE - Management and trade unions of the Valcovny plechu Frydek-Mistek (VPFM) steelworks have successfully completed talks and signed a collective agreement for 2004, which will see wages rise 5.8 %, VPFM spokeswoman Eva Kojonkova told Interfax.

In 2003, wages grew 4.5 % to an average CZK 16,200 per month. This year, the average monthly wage at VPFM should reach CZK 17,000.

VPFM is a key employer in the Frydek-Mistek region with a staff of 950.
