AS local residents have watched the Holyrood project's slow progress, they have at least been able to comfort themselves with the fact that it has turned the area into a property hot spot.
But not everyone is happy to have the new parliament taking shape on their doorstep, even if it has helped house prices to increase faster than in some other parts of Edinburgh.
In fact, one near neighbour is so displeased by the ' monstrous' structure 'changing the character of the area', she has ordered a tree to be planted outside her home to obscure it from view.
