Article: Public health spending drops as anti-terrorism funds soar.

2004 FEB 9 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- While money flows from Washington, DC, to prepare the nation's health system to deal with the aftermath of terrorism, state spending for public health agencies is decreasing, an advocacy group says.

The Inland Northwest of America has received more than $4 million in federal anti-terrorism grants for healthcare and emergency response systems, part of $2 billion Congress has sent to improve states' readiness since September 11, 2001.
