I saw on the BBC website two days ago that they ranked Lennox Lewis as the seventh-best heavyweight boxer of all-time.
Now I do not normally attach much significance to arbitrarilyconstructed Top Tens; they are merely a statement of someone's opinion, but the ease with which this harmful information could fall into a child's hands brought out the responsible adult in me.
The implication that in more than 100 years of championship fighting only six men were better than Britain's plodding pugilist should utterly astound anyone ...
