Feb. 9--WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Riviera Beach-based cargo company Tropical Shipping is making a splash in the Caribbean with specially minted coins that are being distributed to tourists who can redeem them for hotel, car rental and charter yacht discounts.
"It's a program that is under way in the Caribbean... to try to get people to come back," said Rick Murrell, Tropical's president and CEO. "We want to get 30 million people a year to the Caribbean."
The company's name is not on the aluminum coins. Instead, each of the seven islands participating so far ...
