Jovita Carranza Vice President of Air Operations at United Parcel Service
In her early years at United Parcel Service, Jovita Carranza went by the nickname of Jo because it was easier than explaining how to pronounce her given Hispanic manic. These days Carranza is a UPS vice president, responsible for all of the company's operations in Latin American and the Caribbean, and the highest-ranking Hispanic female executive at UPS, the world's largest package delivery company. She can call the shots.
"Finally, when I had a prestigious position, I said, 'Jovita's the name,'" says Carranza, whose first name loosely translates into English to mean "joy of ...
