LONDON -- Kuwaiti Energy Minister Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahd al- Sabah has come under fierce attack from Kuwait's lawmakers over corruption charges that involve a Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC) contract with a local subcontractor that supplies a Halliburton subsidiary with oil products destined for Iraq.
Accusations of corruption voiced by parliamentarians in a heated Monday session are certain to make Sheikh Ahmad more vulnerable at a time when support of the National Assembly is badly needed for the endorsement of the country's "Project Kuwait" scheme, which would allow international oil companies to invest in Kuwait's northern oil fields.
