NEW YORK -- To turn on today's young men, the industry has thrown away last year's bestseller lists.
Thanks to the steady stream of new silhouettes, new colors and fabrics, and realistic pricing, the young men's market continues to capture this fickle, yet free-spending, customer.
What may have been effective in the past may not necessarily work in today's competitive marketplace, say retailers and manufacturers in this fast-moving market.
Other conclusions they've reached include:
* Items being sold in young men's departments should not resemble anything that can be found in mainfloor men's departments;
