A free and joyful spirit took poet, photographer, travel writer, musician and multimedia artist Eleanor Keats all over the globe.
It once led her to the remote Welsh cottage of the widow of poet Dylan Thomas, where Mrs. Keats' enthusiasm charmed Caitlin Thomas into inviting Mrs. Keats and her husband to spend the night.
Mrs. Keats died Jan. 31 at age 73 after a lengthy illness.
She and her husband traveled extensively in Europe in 1954 and 1955 as they studied at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Hamburg, Germany. Donald H. Keats was a Fulbright scholar at the school.
